The death occurred peacefully at Andrews of Charlottetown on Friday, June 12th of Sister Mary Gillis, CND (S. Brendan Mary). Mary was born May 11th, 1935, at St. Peter’s Bay, PEI, to her parents Brent and Maude (MacAulay) Gillis. Sister Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Brenda Curran; sisters-in-law Patricia and Ada Gillis, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, as well as, the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame. She was predeceased by her parents Brent and Maude, her sisters Bernadette Spicer and Sister Anne, brothers, Richard, Daniel, and Dolph Gillis, her nephew Jeffrey Gillis, and brothers-in-law Robin Curran, Charley Greene and Tom Spicer. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church.
