Stephen (Steve) Russell Obituary

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on May 31, Stephen “Steve” Alton Russell age 57 passed away peacefully with his family by his side.   Born in Charlottetown on July 22, 1967 to the late Stanley “Alton” and Wilma (Deacon) Russell.  Left to mourn are his beloved daughters Amanda Russell (Zack Wilson) and Lauren Russell.  His cherished grandchildren Kinsley, Landon and Olivia.  He will be greatly missed by his brother and best friend Darren “Ralph” Russell and sister Wendy Russell (Mary Skinner). He is also survived by the mother of his children, Cyndi Russell.

For over 30 years, Steve was a dedicated member of the team at Graybar Harris and Room, where he was not only a respected colleague but also a loyal and cherished friend. Known for his sharp wit and unforgettable sense of humor, Steve left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of interacting with him.

In his younger days, Steve loved spending time with friends—though never too late into the night. His nickname, the "Midnight Cowboy," eventually became the "9 PM Cowboy," a testament to his early turn-ins and good-natured spirit.

Steve loved playing ball and spent countless hours at the ballfields each week. Unfortunately, his knack for minor injuries—something he humorously passed down to his daughters—eventually led him to hang up his cleats. Still, his love of sports never faded. He was a lifelong and devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots.

Above all else, Steve’s greatest pride and joy were his daughters. They were the center of his world and the legacy he held most dear.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of Unit 2 at the QEH for the exceptional care and compassion they showed Steve during his stay.
