The Hon. Raymond Bertrand (Bert) Plamondon Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, that the family of The Honourable Raymond Bertrand (Bert) Plamondon, husband of Mary (Farmer) Plamondon, announces his peaceful passing, which occurred at Prince Edward Home, on April 1, 2025.

Born in in Lac-Édouard, Quebec on February 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Patrice and Gabrielle (Bertrand) Plamondon. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sister, Marcelle Lanthier (Jacques), brother Pierre (Jacqueline), and brother-in-law Claude Doucet. 

In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Mary, he is survived by his daughters, Lynne Plamondon-Long (Michael), Lisa Mutch (Andrew) and Suzanne Plamondon; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Mutch (Maria Bartholomew), Amy Palmer (Tyler), Becky Biggers (Brandon), Hannah Yeo (Spencer), Nathan Long (Emily Veale) and Grace Plamondon; great grandchildren, Andy, Jack and Ellie Mae Palmer, Sawyer, Sutton and Sloane Biggers, Bennett and Hudson Yeo; and siblings Claire Doucet, Michel Plamondon (Dorothy) and Danielle Plamondon. 

Bert graduated from the University of Laval with a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his education at St. Dunstan’s University and Nova Scotia Technical College graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering. Later, he obtained his law degree from Dalhousie University.

Bert began his career in law as a Crown Prosecutor. Later, he was appointed to the bench as a Provincial Court Judge, where he served until his retirement.

An outdoor enthusiast, Bert spent time fishing on the many rivers of PEI, walking the woods with his dogs, and occasionally hunting with his friends in PEI and NS. 

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home with visitation/reception on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the reception centre. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi, Cornwall, on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.

Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Equipment Fund or a charity of your choice.
