Faye Doucette

B.A. B.Ed. C.F.S.P. Lic. Emb and Funeral Director

Faye, a founding partner of Belvedere Funeral Home, is President of Belvedere Funeral Home and has been involved in funeral service since 1993. She obtained a teaching certificate from Prince of Wales College in 1965 and taught high school Mathematics at O'Leary High School and Colonel Gray Senior High School. She went on to complete her B.A. and B.Ed. at UPEI.

Faye graduated from Mount Royal College in Calgary with a Certificate in Funeral Directing and Embalming with Honors, and is a Licensed Embalmer, Funeral Director and Certified Crematory Operator. She presently serves as Past President of the Funeral Association of Canada and Past President of the Prince Edward Island Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. She has served as General Chair Person and Director of the Atlantic Provinces Funeral Directors and Service Convention. On November 16, 2010 Faye earned the designation CFSP (Certified Funeral Service Practioner) granted by the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice.

Faye's husband, Eric, predeceased her in 1998. She lives in Sherwood and has four daughters and nine grandchildren. Faye is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Stratford, enjoys reading and being with people. She is an active member of St. Pius X Church.

Craig Bryanton

Lic. Emb. and Funeral Director

Craig has been involved in funeral service since 1987 serving the people of the Montague area with Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home before joining Belvedere Funeral Home staff in June of 2011.

Craig became a licensed embalmer and funeral director in 1993 and became a Certified Crematory Operator in 2011.

Craig and his wife Donna live in Stratford. Craig enjoys curling, strolling PEI’s beautiful beaches and touring the Maritime provinces with Donna.

Willard MacKay

Lic. Emb. and Funeral Director

Willard graduated from Bathurst High School and immediately pursued a career in funeral service, which has spanned 50+ years serving people in both New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. He graduated from the New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science and Embalming in Boston, MA.

Upon conclusion of this advanced program, he returned to Moncton to complete the apprenticeship required to be licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer for the province of New Brunswick in 1965. Willard served in Moncton, Bathurst, Miramichi, Montague and Charlottetown where he is employed full time with us at Belvedere.

He holds dual licenses – NB and PEI – and presently serves on the Executive of the Prince Edward Island Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. He married his high school sweetheart in 1966 and after 51 years of marriage to Ellen, cancer claimed her life. Willard and Ellen have two children, Peg and Jason, and 5 grandchildren all from Miramichi, NB.

On October 5, 2019, Willard and Faye were married and live in Charlottetown. Willard continues to maintain close relationships in Miramichi where he continues to be a faithful member of St. James and St. John United Church.

Shawn Williamson

Lic.Emb. and Funeral Director

Shawn graduated from the Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s Licensure Program with the Canadian College of Funeral Service in 2020. He is new to the funeral profession, having recently retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served for 32 years as an Air Navigator and Air Combat Systems Officer in the Maritime Helicopter Community.

Shawn attended Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, British Columbia and obtained a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science from the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario. A graduate of the Canadian Forces Joint Command and Staff Program at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, he was appointed Commanding Officer of 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron in Patricia Bay, British Columbia from 2015 to 2017. His final posting was to England, where he instructed at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.

Shawn has a great love for and interest in people, which will serve him well in funeral service. Originally from Vancouver Island, he now lives in Stratford with his wife Catherine. He has five children: Steven, Rhiannon, Riley Mae, Andrew and Sarah.

Ellen MacPhail

Administrative Assistant

Arlene Brown

Receptionist

Arlene is the wife of Alan Brown, mother of Darren and Heather and grandmother of Hannah.

Arlene has been a member of the Belvedere Funeral Home team for the past 10 years as receptionist-secretary and previously at another funeral home for 21 years. She attends Park Royal United Church and is a member of the senior choir.

Arlene has been very involved with the United Church Women's organization and has been a volunteer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for the past several years. Her interests include music, reading, volunteering and travelling.

Judy Arbing

Reception Hostess

Judy has joined the Belvedere Funeral Home team very recently to serve families as our reception hostess.

Judy brings years of experience in serving people and is a welcome addition to the Belvedere team.

Mike Doucette

Vehicle Detailer

Mike has been with the Belvedere Funeral Home team since 1996, helping out where needed. Mike is a full-time paramedic with Island EMS but is very much a part of our team.

Mike spends most of his time making sure we look good! He takes very good care of all our vehicles for which we are most appreciative. He says the garage is "his office".

Mike is married to Elaine and lives in Charlottetown.

Helen MacRae

Helen has been with us ever since the beginning. Helen serves as our official organist/pianist.

Helen has a wonderful gift of music. Her ministry of music is very much appreciated by all the families she has served as it is by all of us at Belvedere Funeral Home.
